Omaha is a special place for Scantron. Since the mid-1980’s, it has been the hub for our technology support and repair. While the Scantron corporate headquarters changed and our range of IT service offerings grew, we expanded our Omaha location. Today, our primary Omaha building is home to our repair depot, project services, and field services, as well as several sales, administrative, and support staff. Our secondary Omaha building houses a state of the art Network Operations Center, an amazing facility that houses a large remote monitoring and support center for our managed IT services customers.

In 2018, Scantron Corporation announced the launch of two brands: Scantron Assessment Solutions and Scantron Technology Solutions (STS). This was the culmination of years of growth in both areas. Our IT service and support division had gone by a few different names, but the STS brand manifested our commitment to this line of business.

For years, Scantron has also been selectively acquiring technology service and support companies in the Omaha metro area who strongly complement and extend our existing capabilities. Most recently, we acquired IT Nexus, a start-up who concentrated on IT service for healthcare providers. A few months prior, we acquired WRK Systems, a larger firm with a 28-year track record of IT service and support in the banking and healthcare industries, a tenure that rivals Scantron’s own. WRK substantially added to our footprint in community banks, where there’s a pervasive and urgent need for robust IT security and regulatory compliance, yet few customers can undertake the depth of resources to do this on their own.

Late in 2016, Scantron acquired P&L Technology, a highly acclaimed service provider with strong ties to Microsoft. P&L had previously won recognition for its rapid growth and continued to earn praise for its deployment of Office 365 throughout Microsoft’s Heartland region.

All told, we now employ more than 300 people out of our two Omaha facilities, and STS also directly employs 160 Field Service Personnel around the country. This means that STS comprises about 50% of our total complement of employees. As Omaha continues to expand its claim as a hub on the Silicon Prairie, we are proud to claim it as our hometown.
