Galesburg District 205 Superintendent Ralph Grimm said he prefers data that has several years worth of information versus one year, such as the yearly state report card. “The results become less meaningful to us” if the test is changed “and that’s one of the reasons we went to a second major assessment because we control how long we use that,” Grimm said. That is a Scantron test administered three times a year: once in the first two weeks of class; again in early January; and finally in late April or early May.
