While the State Department of Education has done away with the ACT Aspire testing for grades 3-8, the new tests, the Scantron Performance Series, is coming on board statewide this school year. Lauderdale County schools have been using the Scantron testing for several years in grades 2-12 in addition to ACT Aspire, which also tested grade 10. Williams said last spring’s Scantron results were encouraging in terms of students meeting their academic goals.
